The Challenge
PokerStars is an online poker cardroom owned by The Stars Group. Work on PokerStars Power Up game commenced in 2014 with its launch in 2017.
The rules and the concept behind this new poker game were created by the PokerStars game design team. PowerUp is a 3-handed sit & go tournament, where players are dealt poker and power cards.
The next stage in the process was prototyping and user testing.
Our Solution
A few dozens of interactive prototypes and non-interactive demos showcasing street-by-street game experience were delivered alongside with the detailed UI Guidelines.
All the use cases behind the power cards and their impact to the game flow were prototyped and documented for the desktop and mobile applications to make sure that the game can be delivered smoothly using Unity engine. The game flow, the timing and the precise positioning of the UI elements were absolutely critical to the success of this product.
The Discovery stage took 6 months to deliver. The set of user experience and product design documentation were handed over to graphic designers, motion artists and developers for further Delivery.
